OpenSports Project Go
The group: OpenSports makes it easy for recreational athletes to find, join, and create sporting events through its mobile and web platform. Users have sport specific profiles that grow with them over time, allowing OpenSports to connect them with the most suitable sports and recreation opportunities, using artificial intelligence.
The idea: OpenSports Project Go, which leverages the OpenSports app to deliver real-time, location-based metrics on physical activity levels of Canadians covering over 15 functional areas through a secured web application. OpenSports Project Go will capture how the officially recommended 150 minutes per week of moderate to vigorous physical activity is being reached through both formal (organized) and informal (pickup) sports and physical activities, as well as the health implications of the social side of sports. Public health administrators will monitor, in real time, when and where different segments of Canadians are looking to be active and if that translates into actual activity levels.
